I’m exploring the RPG genre of game design. I’ve played RPG games pretty casually for many years, and recently settled in with a group that’s been steady and enthusiastic. I started playing with dungeons and dragons 2nd edition when I was in elementary school. Since then I’ve played 3, 3.5, 4e, and pathfinder.
My experience with non-d&d-brand RPGs is pretty limited, but I’ve always been interested to read through their rulebooks and think about how changing mechanics here and focus there results in a different play experience.
As a result, I’ve decided to deconstruct some classic RPG elements and reconstruct them into a system custom made for my gaming group. Lacking a better name at this time, the game will be called Lost Worlds.
